Legends from the past


Dave Skerratt many times Scunthorpe champion, many times Lincolnshire champion. Dave also represented the county on numerous occasions and reached 79 in the England rankings.

Neil is also a mutlple Scunthorpe champion as well as county player. Ray was a regular playing for Scunthorpe in the 50's ,60's and 70's. Pete is by far our most successful player ever, numerous Lincolnshire titles and England no 4. Pete was the first player to play on tv when he lost in the final of the Daily Mirror open at the Royal Albert Hall in 1950.
While on national service in Germany Pete entered and won the German Open.

Ray Leong played with Dave Skerratt in the App Frod A team for many years. He was also a top player and always finished with a personal percentage above 90%.
Mrs. Chambers was the wife of John Chambers who had died a couple of years earlier in 1989. John used to play with the Baysgarth team in Barton and was a very popular figure in local table tennis.

Tetsuo Kasahara played in Japan and was ranked in their top 20.
He held a senior management position at Citizen on the Kingsway and after 15 years in retirement from table tennis, joined Hospital 'A' helping them win the Premier league. Tetsuo always had great battles with Dave Skerratt and they came out 50/50 winners.

Mick Harris and Andy Kelly who played the 2007/8 and 2008/9 seasons in the Doncater league
