Mark Willerton
The STTA Vice President, Mark Willerton, has been promoted within the English Table Tennis Association to National
Programme Manager – Clubs & Premier League 4 Sport. Mark has served for the past six years as the ETTA (now TTE)
Yorkshire Regional Development Officer. Locally, Mark started Angels TTC, to develop the talents of new, young players
with the introduction of the Friday night open training sessions. The Club grew rapidly, starting at North Lindsey College
with six tables and then moving to West Common Sports Hall, with nine tables. The time came for Angels TTC to make
another move, this time to Scunthorpe Sports Club, opening on Friday 11th September 2010, in Herriot Way, off
Scotter Road. The Club is open from Monday to Friday, where eleven teams currently play in the Scunthorpe League,
but there’s always plenty of table time for youngsters and others to play, as well.
